Brandon Warrick, MD

Brandon Warrick, MD, was born and raised in South Dakota. After finishing nursing school, he completed undergraduate and medical school in South Dakota. He did residency in emergency medicine at Detroit Receiving Hospital and worked in private practice before doing a fellowship in medical toxicology at Wayne State University in Detroit.  He is boarded in addiction medicine and works at UNMH Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention Clinic and is the Associate Medical Director of the New Mexico Poison Center and core teaching faculty in Emergency Medicine at UNM. For more than a decade, Dr. Warrick’s research and community engagement has focused on drugs of abuse. He has received national recognition twice by the American College of Medical Toxicology for his efforts with drugs of abuse.

With a background in Emergency Medicine leadership, working at UNM’s Addiction Clinic, and the Poison Center, Dr. Warrick regularly works with people in all areas of the health care spectrum for substance use disorders. He uses his training and expertise to see problems from multiple points of view and creatively develop systems that are evidence based and work for all.

NM Bridge Implementation Team:
Director for Statewide Infrastructure Development; Co-Director of Clinical Implementation – Dr. Warrick helps develop the program blueprint, pharmacy and access issues, dissemination and promotion, and leads efforts to establish a helpline for hospitals that is 24/7 access via partnership with UNM.
