SUMMARY:“Nuts & Bolts” of Treatment for OUD in Clinic Setting
DESCRIPTION:Accreditation\nComagineHealth designates this course for a maximum of 1.0 Continuing Medical Education credits and New Mexico Medical Board Pain Management required hours. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. *Registration required.\nThis training does not offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs).\nCourse Description\n(1hr) This is an introduction to how to actually prescribe buprenorphine once you have your waiver. It will talk about the common concerns, such as what documentation you should do, what to do if your patient is struggling, and how to handle some disruptive behaviors.\n\nAbout the Presenter\nLeslie Hayes, MD, works for El Centro Family Health in Espanola, NM. She is board-certified in both addiction and family medicine. While Dr. Hayes enjoys all aspects of family medicine, her particular passion is taking care of people with opioid use disorder. She especially enjoys working with pregnant women and new mothers who have had drug problems and works hard to make sure that they and their babies receive compassionate and appropriate medical care. She was named a White House Champion of Change in April of 2016 for her work with substance use disorder and pregnancy.\nNote: We need a minimum of three registered participants at least one day in advance or the training may be cancelled. Thanks for understanding!\nFor assistance please email: RMAbeyta@salud.unm.edu\n
