This course also qualifies for New Mexico Medical Board Pain Management required hours. *Registration required.\nThis training does not offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs).\nCourse Description\n(1hr) The Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) epidemic in the USA, the pharmacology and value of medications used in Medications for OUD (MOUD), the management of acute and peri‐operative pain (pre-op & post-op) in OUD patients receiving Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT), and the management of acute pain in OUD patients not receiving MAT\nAbout the Presenter\nEric Ketcham MD, MBA, FACEP, FASAM, FACHE, FAAEM is board certified in emergency medicine (ABEM) and addiction medicine (ABPM). He is co-founder and past chair of the Pain Management and Addiction Medicine Section of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). He works primarily for the Presbyterian Healthcare System (PHS), half-time as an emergency medicine physician, and half-time as an addiction medicine specialist (outpatient clinic and hospital consults – ICU, Med/Surg, L&D, ED, etc.).  He was the co-chair for the development of the ACEP/AAAP X-waiver course. He has been initiating buprenorphine in the ED since 2011.\nNote: We need a minimum of three registered participants at least one day in advance or the training may be cancelled.
